WE CONSIDER YOU OUR “CLIENT” AND NOT OUR “PATIENT”
Why Are You Our Client?
You may have noticed that we refer to you as our “client” rather than our “patient” when you visit our office. This is a very important distinction, we think, and a clear reflection of the entirely different philosophy you will experience as a full participant in this health-care facility. Let us explain:
The traditional medical/dental settings of the past encouraged the “patient” to relinquish control and freedom of choice to the “all-knowing” practitioner. Thus, the “patient” was diminished to a passive role in the pursuit of his/her own well-being, and most of the important decisions were left up to someone else.
We do not agree with this outdated concept. Instead, we encourage our “clients” to enjoy a highly active role in reaching and then maintaining their personal health goals. We invite you to exercise your total freedom of choice throughout your course of treatment here, first by establishing exactly what your goals will be, then by deciding how you wish to accomplish these goals, what financial guidelines you would like to observer, and so on.
Because a well-informed client is infinitely better prepared to make intelligent decisions regarding his/her dental future, we place a great deal of emphasis on the thorough explanation of treatment and treatment rationale before procedures begin. Questions and clarification at any point are always welcomed. We may serve as your professional counselors in these matters, but the final decisions are always yours, not ours.

“Patients” who feel that “adequate” or “average” dentistry is sufficient will not be happy with the service…we simply refuse to take short-cuts that would be necessary to satisfy them. Nothing less than the most highly trained personnel, state-of-the-art equipment, materials, and techniques will ever be employed by this office. This is the one hard, uncompromising cornerstone or our practice.
